Eligibility Criteria for SSC MTS-

Candidates willing to appear for SSC MTS examination must possess a pass certificate of matriculation or an equivalent examination from a government recognized board.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern-Subject-Wise:

Paper I:

 Paper I of the SSC MTS exam is an online (Computer-based test) and consists of four subjects – General Intelligence and Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, and General Awareness. The exam pattern is  as follows:

The total number of questions is 100, and the maximum marks are 100. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes.

Paper II:

 Paper II of the SSC MTS exam is an offline (Descriptive) test. The candidate has to write a short essay or letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution. The exam pattern is as follows:

The maximum marks for Paper II are 50, and the duration of the exam is 30 minutes. Please note that the marks obtained in Paper II are only qualifying in nature and are not included in the final merit list.

It is important to note that the level of difficulty for each subject in Paper I is based on the 10th standard, while the level of Paper II is also based on the 10th standard but focuses on testing the candidate’s writing ability in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.

Candidates who qualify for Paper I are eligible to appear for Paper II. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in Paper I only. If a candidate qualifies for Paper I but fails to secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper II, he/she will not be considered for final selection.

Selection Process-

Final SelectionThe final selection is based on the merit list prepared by the Staff Selection Commission based on the marks obtained by the candidate in Paper I.

Please note that Paper I is an objective type test, while Paper II is a descriptive type test. Also, the marks obtained in Paper II are only qualifying in nature and are not included in the final merit list. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in Paper I only. The detailed exam pattern for SSC MTS may vary depending on the official notification released by the Staff Selection Commission. The questions will be objective type (multiple choice questions). There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The exam duration is 2 hours.

  1. Skill Test:

Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be called for the Skill Test. The details of the Skill Test are as follows:

 The exam consists of a computer-based test (CBT) with 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
 The total duration of the exam is 90 minutes.
 The questions are available in both English and Hindi language.
 The syllabus for the exam includes General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi.
 The questions are of 10th standard level.

SELECTION PROCESS-

  Stage                                                      Description
Computer Based Test (CBT)It is the first stage of the selection process. Candidates have to appear for an online exam of 100 marks. The questions will be of objective type and available in both English and Hindi language. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes. The questions will be based on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)Candidates who qualify for the CBT must appear for the Physical Efficiency Test. Male candidates have to run for 5 km in 24 minutes, and female candidates have to run for 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes.
Physical Standard Test (PST)Candidates who qualify for the PET must undergo the Physical Standard Test. The height, weight, and chest (only for male candidates) measurements of the candidates will be taken. Candidates who do not meet the prescribed standards will be disqualified.
Medical ExaminationCandidates who qualify in the PST will have to undergo a medical examination. The medical board will examine the physical and mental fitness of the candidates. Candidates who are found unfit will be disqualified.
Final Merit ListCandidates who qualify in all the above stages and meet the cutoff marks will be selected for the post of Constable (GD) in various forces. The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks scored by the candidates in the CBT.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SSC CPO-

Eligibility Criteria                                                    Information
NationalityThe candidate must be a citizen of India.
Age LimitThe age of the candidate must be between 20 and 25 years as on 1st January of the year in which the candidate is applying. However, relaxation in age is provided to candidates belonging to certain categories, as per government rules.
Educational QualificationThe candidate must pass a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
Physical StandardsThe candidate must meet the physical standards as specified in the official notification, including height, chest and weight measurements. These standards may vary for male and female candidates, and for different categories.
Final Year CandidatesCandidates who are appearing in their final year of graduation or awaiting their results are also eligible to apply for the SSC CPO exam. However, such candidates must ensure that they possess the required educational qualification before the date of Document Verification.

SELECTION PROCESS-

 Stage                                                   Description
Stage 1: Paper-IComputer-Based Test (CBT) with 200 multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark each. The questions are divided into four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Candidates who score above the cutoff marks in Paper-I will be shortlisted for the next stage.

Stage 2: Physical Endurance Test (PET)/Physical

Standard Test (PST)

Candidates who qualify the Paper-I are called for the PET/PST. The test includes physical measurements such as height, chest, and weight, and physical endurance tests such as running, long jump, and high jump.

Candidates who qualify the PET/PST will be shortlisted for the next stage.

Stage 3: Paper-IIComputer-Based Test (CBT) with 200 multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark each. The questions are based on English language and comprehension. Candidates who score above the cutoff marks in Paper-II will be shortlisted for the next stage.

Stage 4: Detailed

Medical Examination (DME)

Candidates who qualify the Paper-II will be called for the DME, which includes a thorough medical examination to determine the candidate’s medical fitness for the job. Candidates who pass the DME will be

shortlisted for the next stage.

Stage 5: Final Merit ListThe final merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in Paper-I and Paper-II. Candidates who rank high on the merit list will be offered the job.
